WAP is the abbreviation for Wireless Application Protocol, a
secure specification that allows users to access information
instantly via handheld wireless devices such as mobile
phones, pagers, two-way radios, smartphones and
communicators.
Web sms allows users to send WAP bookmarks. In simple terms
you sms a web site url to a person that have access to a WAP
enabled phone. They will receive a message and could follow
the link from the WAP bookmark in their "inbox" and surf the
appropriate web site on their mobile phone.
Please ensure that the receipients of the WAP bookmarks have
WAP enabled phones as all messages sent will be charged for.
What is the difference between a WAP bookmark and MMS?
Multi-media messaging takes place when you send Audio, Audio
video, Animation/slide, Video, Text or Static Images. With
WAP bookmarking we send a web site URL which the receipient
have to visit. It is still cheaper than MMS.
